Established in 2018 March, Baat Karo – Talk because we listen is a free Islamabad Based community service, founded by Fahad Malik from Cohort II that focuses on suicide intervention, prevention, awareness, and education. It provides help and hopes through online chat, college campuses, and high school events and other educational programs. It started off in March 2018, with a WhatsApp based chatline, and now, it is offering free chat-based help through this website. 

The highlighting factor of this platform is that it breaks the stereotypes surrounding mental health issues. Depression is treatable. Suicide is preventable. Fahad believes that the most important thing in a person’s life is the “peace of mind”. Depression can be devastating. Jobs come to an end, relationships break down and lives can be lost, all resulting in depression. That’s why the work is done at Baat Karo is so important – it not only changes lives but saves them.

Baat Karo is working to save as many lives as possible and brings hope to those who are affected by depression specifically.

Free Chatline 

If you need someone to talk to, you can try their beta chatline. Their trained members are available to talk to you, anytime you want them to be there. 

One on One Consultations

You can book an appointment with their professional psychologists and psychotherapists. 

Awareness Sessions

They do awareness sessions to fight the taboo attached to the mental health & depression in Pakistan, in different universities, colleges & corporate organizations.

Support Groups

Their Community Support Facebook Group is a place where you can talk openly about depression, mutually give and receive support from peers about mental health challenges and learn about psychological well-being.
