Profile Brief

Sarfaraz Khan belongs to the city of flowers ‘Peshawar’ Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He has done a Master in Chemical Engineering (Excellent Academic Performance Award holder) from UET and currently working as Trainer & Facilitator with ‘Work To Empower’ and ‘British Council Pakistan’. He has been active doing social and volunteer work since 2012 and has been the founder of several initiatives including Being Human International Peshawar Chapter – a student society that focuses on raising awareness of human rights, health, youth empowerment, and HIV/AIDS across Peshawar.

He started his work, particularly for the community in 2013 and has been associated with a number of organizations including School of Leadership (SOL), UNDP, Work To Empower (WE), Dost Foundation, and British Council Pakistan. His development work includes community workshops and trainings on issues including Leadership, child education, conflict prevention and peace, GBV, communication skills, Activism and youth engagement, human rights, social enterprise, and cross-cultural understanding. His advocacy work (social action projects) has focused largely on these same issues, and working with agencies including USAID and UNFPA has brought critical social issues from the grass¬roots level to governmental policy platforms where he represented Pakistan on international platforms such as International Study Visit Pakistan (ISV) and Global Peace Chain. Thus achieved multiple awards and recognitions from British Council, Work To Empower (WE), UNDP, Irish and Norwegian embassy in the highlighted domains for his SAP’s.

In addition, he is a certified Trainer & Facilitator, and certified theatre performer- conducted forum theatres on multiple social issues, raised awareness among the masses through role-plays, and engaged youth in social action projects.

Being a social activist, peace agent and volunteer in a number of community development initiatives, he is passionate to learn and share his knowledge, experiences and formulate followed by taking necessary steps for peace and sustainable development through volunteerism and cultural advancement by creating opportunities and collaborative approach contributing to society.
