After volunteering for 5 years in Karachi in different organizations as a teacher, she started her own organization with the name of “Aabyari”. The Aim of the organization is community building, creative learning/ writing, sports and storytelling in different parts of Pakistan. The organization has worked with Govt. School Kamra, Govt. School and a Madrassa in Karore, Govt. School in Gulmit (Hunza), SOS Rawalpindi, and is currently working with Fareezah school in Rawalpindi.
Our Salamti Fellow, feroza is currently teaching at a school near Bahria. She started an initiative to include the basics of peace education in curriculum of young students. She gave them an overview of peace in an artistic way to equip them with the basic idea. Through this, students were made drawings of peace and decorated with thread, glue and colours. Further, she is planning to engage them in making a 3D structure of these signs and writing a paragraph on what they think about peace. Such initiatives at primary level pave the ways towards moral values, harmony and tolerance in societies. She is encouraged to lead the other sessions frequently with her students.
