COHORTS

The Salamti Fellowship Program (SFP), launched in 2017 by the Shaoor Foundation under the Peace Without Borders campaign, is Pakistan’s first tech-free, fully-funded residential fellowship on peacebuilding, tolerance, and social cohesion. It brings together young peacebuilders, activists, and community leaders (18–35) for an intensive 7-day residential experience featuring expert-led sessions, interactive activities, and reflective practices.

Fellows explore topics like intolerance, polarization, misinformation, gender inequality, and interfaith harmony, gaining practical tools to create community impact. Through Community Action Projects (CAPs), Salamti transforms learning into action, with 390+ fellows across 13 cohorts and 207 CAPs implemented nationwide—building a strong network of peace agents for an inclusive Pakistan.

WHY IS THE FELLOWSHIP NEEDED?

The fellowship is needed to provide youth with a space where they can speak, connect, and be heard. In Pakistan, young people often face shrinking spaces for dialogue, rising intolerance, and limited opportunities to engage meaningfully with diverse communities. Salamti Fellowship creates that safe and inclusive space where they can unlearn biases, build empathy, and explore peaceful solutions to everyday conflicts. It equips them with the tools, confidence, and support network to counter violent extremism and become Peace Agents who actively promote tolerance, acceptance, and social harmony in their communities.
