WHAT ARE CAPs AND SAPs?

Community Action Projects (CAPs) or Social Action Projects (SAPs) are the practical extension of the Salamti Fellowship, where fellows translate their learning into meaningful community action. Each fellow is tasked with designing and implementing a project that addresses local challenges such as intolerance, discrimination, gender-based violence, or youth marginalization. Supported through seed grants, mentorship, and peer networks, these initiatives allow Peace Agents to directly engage their communities, foster dialogue, and promote inclusivity. Over the past 9 years, Salamti Fellows have launched more than 200 CAPs/SAPs, reaching over 200,000 direct beneficiaries across Pakistan. These projects have not only sparked awareness but also built local resilience, offering sustainable, community-led solutions that continue to inspire and uplift people long after the fellowship ends.
