Cohort-III
Cohort-III of the Salamti Fellowship Program was enlightened by 30 participants who represented the 17 districts of Pakistan. The fellowship was held at Whispering Pines Resort, Haripur from 30th November to 6th December 2019.
This fellowship was designed to instill the significance of inclusivity, acceptance, and tolerance to achieve the mutual goal of peaceful Pakistan. Also, we evoked and promoted a sense of critical thinking about the importance of peacebuilding, conflict, and countering violent extremism. Whether it’s the element of self-exploration and focus through meditation or dialogue sessions and collective recommendations for national internal security policy, from knowing each other to accepting each other’s differences and opinions, this journey of 7 days amazingly contributed towards a mutual goal that is a peaceful and inclusive Pakistan.
This fellowship was honored by our ideal line of speakers including Dr. Munazza Yaqoob, Mr. Harris Khalique, Mr. Khurshid Nadeem, Ms. Sheema Kermani, Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Mr. Syed Shamoon Hashmi. Ms. Jennifer Jag Jivan, Mr. Haroon Sarab Diyal, Mr. Wajih Nizami, Muhammad Usman Asghar, Mr. Farnood Alam, Mr. Muhammad Hassan Miraj, Ms. Aisha Mughal, Dr. Adnan Rafiq, Dr. Soumia Aziz, Mr. Naveed Taj Ghouri, Mr. Nasir Baig and also our senior fellows Muhammad Waleed and Samar Khan (Cohort-II) for their time and sharing the valuable experience and vision with the participants. Without their presence and knowledge, this fellowship wouldn’t have been successful.
We expect that our Salamti Fellows positively replicate the learnings and implement them in their societies and communities to play an important role in the development and infrastructure of Pakistan. The whole fellowship was a true example of exceptional teamwork, sharing the basic knowledge and understanding of the subject fields under the leadership of the team of Peace Without Borders.
