Profile Brief

Jaffar Abbas is a student of Environmental Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). He’s a Youth Climate Change Activist with FridaysForFuture-Pakistan and is the founder of his very own Initiative titled ‘Ductus Exemplo’, which aims at providing environmental education to students at the grassroots level so as to instill a sense of social responsibility in their minds and invigorate a sense of love for the environment and the planet.
He’s currently serving as the President of the NUST Environment Club, through which he’s had a chance to organize various seminars, marches and even large-scale social events aimed at creating environmental awareness and advocacy throughout the community. Most recently, due to his efforts with the FridaysForFuture organization, he’s had the opportunity of organizing the first-ever talk on Sustainable Development and Climate Change by His Excellency Mr. Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations in his first-ever visit to Pakistan.

Jaffar Abbas aims at creating an impact on society to allow it to incorporate elements of peace building and environmentalism, as he believes they go hand-in-hand. Without care for the environment, the whole concept of tranquility is lost, and with that important pillars of inner peace, communal peace and societal tolerance.
