Born and raised in a remote part of desert Tharparkar, Vishal is a farmer, a social activist and an entrepreneurial being, who loves to work in diverse environments. Vishal has been an avid traveler and has been to 17 countries so far and wishes to travel to 30 countries before turning 30.
Vishal possesses a diversity of experiences. He is a graduate from Lahore University of Management Sciences and has undertaken three semesters abroad. Currently he is working as Assistant Director at State Bank of Pakistan and his past experiences include being a part of Parliament, KPMG, Unilever and Consultants Group.
He has been involved in social activism, engaging with civil society to promote social justice and empower vulnerable communities in Pakistan since his high school. His interest towards greater social action, inclusion and prosperity for the underprivileged led to initiation of a social enterprise named The-Netizens. It works with stakeholders to transform the under-privileged students into a well-informed technologically literate student.
His interests lie towards bringing greater inclusion and prosperity and he dreams of a plural Pakistan. He is committed to advocating for the rights of ethnic-, linguistic- and religious-minorities and has contributed to national efforts to establish transitional justice mechanisms that would provide redress to victims. In 2016, he developed recommendations to the Parliament and was involved in civil society consultations on drafting legislation to promote interfaith and intrafaith harmony and tolerance to counterattack violence and extremism.
He envisions himself as a global policy maker who not only improves the global standard of quality of life by working on 2030 UN SDGs but also enhances social welfare, thus, creating a better future for our upcoming generations.
