It’s the passion and dedication that transforms the idea into reality. Salamti Fellowship is a platform which help to revamp the thoughts and enhance the vision to play a better role in the communities. Our Salamti fellows have come a long way to transform the society through the positive use of technology. A huge shout out to Ehsam Ullah Baig Hassan Ali Shah and Alamgir Khan who initiated a digital venture in collaboration with the Government of Gilgit Baltistan. E-Rozgar program will provide resources to educate, employ and empower the youth of Gilgit Baltistan. Pakistan Innovative Summit for Education in collaboration with Youth Affairs Department, Gilgit Baltistan will execute E-Rozgar Program.

Special Operation

Agenda of Activity:

This Focus Group discussion (FGD) was conducted to complete the community service activity For Salamti Fellowship Program. The Topic of this FGD was the role of scouting in community service, personal development and spiritual growth.

Participants of FGD:

The FGD was conducted at Ismaili Boys Scouts office in Gilgit. 4 of the FGD participants are active scouts of different ranks and groups of Ismaili Boys Scouts Gilgit and one participant (Asif) was part of this scout group for more than 8 years and now he spends most of his time in writing his books. Asif has already published a book Titled, “Where are you” which is based on the real life experience of transformation from teenage to adulthood

Summary of Discussion:

  • All of the FGD participants were of the view that scouting is a great platform for gathering among friends in which, the scouts not only spend quality time with friends but also provide their services to community through these gatherings.
  • Scouting is very beneficial for personal development as it enhances their life skills by organizing them in disciplined structure, by providing them leadership roles and by giving them the confidence to present themselves positively in front of the community.
  • Scouting enables young students to share each other’s problems on a mutual platform.
  • The organized structure of Scouting based on different age categories and leadership roles, helps them to understand and respect the social hierarchy of the society.
  • Scouts does not only operate at the community level but they also serve in the public domains on many occasions; they serve in hospitals and assist the nursing staff to honor the services of doctors and nurses to community, they manage the traffic on roads along with the traffic police to dignify the work of police for community.
  • Scouting Teaches them discipline, humbleness, leadership along with motivation to serve.
