Dr. Ammar Khan Nasir, son of Maulana Zahid-ur-Rashidi, is a renowned Deobandi scholar and holds a PhD in Islamic Studies. His grandfather, Maulana Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan Safdar, was considered the academic voice of the Deobandi school in the country. Ammar Khan Nasir has also written a comprehensive book on the issues of blasphemy in Pakistan that challenges extremist discourse. He taught Dars Nizami course at Nusrat-ul-Uloom from 1992 to 2006. Since 2006, he has been HOD Islamic Studies at GIFT University Gujjar Anwala. He teaches Arabic and Islamic Studies in graduate and MPhil classes.
