Dr. Qibla Ayaz holds a PhD in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from Edinburgh, UK, and has recently completed his second tenure as Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Government of Pakistan, since April 19, 2021. His first tenure spanned from November 2017, to November, 2020. Dr. Ayaz has also held prominent academic positions, including Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Studies at the University of Peshawar until his retirement on October 5, 2013. He has served as Vice-Chancellor of both Islamia College, Peshawar (2014), and the University of Peshawar (2012-2013). Dr. Ayaz’s fields of interest encompass constitution, law, governance, education, religious diversity, conflict resolution, interfaith dialogue, social harmony, and citizen diplomacy.
